One of Those Little Announcey Posts

Hey, Girlz! I hope you're having a good day :). Anyone else getting pumped for summer? How much school do y'all have left?

I just wanted to make a little *squeal* announcement today. Actually, FIVE announcements (whoah O_o). The first one is...

Girlz of God is now on Facebook! Click HERE to go to the page (and 'like' it if you would like :). Haha!).

The second announcement...

I saw that a few other Bloggers got ask.fm accounts, and I thought it looked like fun. SO, I got one :). Click HERE to go to my account, and feel free to ask me anything (that's not, like, extremely personal. LOL)...about my books or blog, what I believe in, or just random questions!

Announcement number three...

I'm going to be in "The Little Mermaid" this summer! Fun, fun! I am playing Ariel's oldest sister, Atina, and I get to sing. Yay! :D

Announcement number four...

Remember when these friends came to visit (a year ago)? Well, it just so happens that I get to go visit them in a few months! To say that I am excited is an understatement!

And the last (and most exciting) announcement...

I can't go into all the details, but my family's second adoption is really moving forward. Let's just say we will have my baby brother in a couple months. So exciting, right!??!?!? :D I'm soooooooo EXCITEDDDD! (I know I keep using that word, but it fits!)

Anywayyyy, I hope you Girlz all have a good week. I'll be praying for you all, alright? In fact, if you have any prayer requests or are in need of prayer, please feel free to comment them below. I would be blessed to pray for you.

"I Am Beautiful"

"You say I sound silly when I laugh real loud
Talk about my day and you tune me out
You keep telling me lies to make things worse

But I don’t hear you
‘Cause I’m listening to his words

And he says I am beautiful
And when I fall
It don’t matter that I’m not perfect
I am beautiful
 I’m not alone
And in his eyes I’m so worth it
I’m worth every tear
And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
 He says I’m beautiful

You say I’ll never be good enough
Knock me down
Won’t help me up
And you always say the right thing to make me hurt

But I don’t hear you
‘Cause I’m listening to his words

And he says I am beautiful
And when I fall
It don’t matter that I’m not perfect
 I am beautiful
I’m not alone
And in his eyes I’m so worth it
I’m worth every tear
And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
He says I’m beautiful

And I deserve better things
He says he understands
I got to do what's right for me

And he says I am beautiful
And when I fall
It don’t matter that I’m not perfect
 I am beautiful
I’m not alone
And in his eyes I’m so worth it
I’m worth every tear
 And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
He says I’m beautiful
 He says
He says I’m beautiful
And I’m worth every tear
And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
He says I’m beautiful." - I Am Beautiful, Candice Glover

Happy, Happy, Happy

Lately, my family has become a bit obsessed with something.

I'll give you a hint: It's a TV show.

Still stumped? It's about multimillionaires...

...who are rednecks...

...who live in Louisiana...

...who make duck calls...

...who have uber-long beards.

Some of you have probably guess by now that the "thing" my family is obsessed with is, in fact, DUCK DYNASTY!

I'd heard about it from my best friend but had been skeptical about watching it (wouldn't you be skeptical if your friend sent you pictures of four bearded men and called them her home boys?!). My parents had also heard about it from someone else, and so my dad bought the first episode and showed it to us. Needless to say, we were hooked.

Like my shirt?
Phil and Si are my favorites :)

:D

Haha, Si!

^My favorite Uncle Si quote

Do you like Duck Dynasty? Are you a bit obsessed with it (like my family)?

You are Beautiful

"You're so pretty."

My friend said the words as she studied my face. People have said I'm pretty before, but when this friend said it, there was something honest about her words. She didn't just throw it out like a meaningless compliment. It was genuine.

In front of the mirror that night, I studied my reflection.

And I genuinely loved what I saw.

Look at your eyes when you smile, I thought to myself. Look at what a beautiful blue-green they are, and how they have an innocent sparkle in them. Look at your flowing brown hair with its soft curls.

I wasn't being conceited, like, "Look how gorgeous I am! I'm all that!" Not at all. I was just really taking the time to love what God had made...picking out the beautiful traits He notices rather than the "flaws" I always notice.

The next day, I was full of joy and confidence. I desired to let others know how loved they are, how beautiful they are.

It's interesting how one seemingly simple compliment could mean so much and could motivate me to let other people know that God made them beautiful...truly beautiful. Not just outwardly "cute" or "hot," but inwardly unique, special, treasured, cherished, and adored by their Maker.

Let me tell you, girl...you are beautiful. And I genuinely mean that. You are beautiful because you were created by God and are loved unconditionally by Him. When you start to feel insecure, unimportant, unneeded...remember that you belong to God. He always wants you, will always listen to you, is always there for you, and will never, EVER change (Hebrews 13:8). His love won't go away. He always thinks you are beautiful.

I'd like to encourage you girls to take the time to give someone a genuine, heartfelt compliment today. You never know how much it could mean to them.

1 Peter 3:3-4
Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
