Content

"Content" really isn't the right word for this post. But that's the thing...I couldn't find a word to describe it. This. The feeling I get when I experience something that touches me deeply. Something that leaves me feeling peaceful, indescribably content, blessed. The thoughts, feelings, and revelations that occur when something happens that makes me think,

This. This is what life is about.

I experienced that as we stood in her living room, as she lay peacefully sleeping in her bed. She looked genuinely beautiful, despite the cancer she was (and still is) battling. Her sisters and a few friends sat and listened as my sister and I sang for her. Tears trickled down their cheeks as we sang "You are For Me." When the song ended, they wrapped us up in hugs and wiped their tears and thanked us. And I walked over to her bed and smoothed back her hair. This woman, soon to be with Jesus, has been a blessing to not only me, but others as well. Seeing her beautiful, genuine smile whenever our paths crossed always made me feel good.

I experienced the feeling again when my grandparents invited us to come to their house and help them decorate. As my little sister and I carefully placed cherished ornaments on their tree, my grandma told me the stories behind them, and I listened intently, wanting to remember each and every story. Then she fed us cupcakes she had made and lit a candle so we could eat by "firelight," and it stayed with me...the forty minutes I had with my grandmother and little sister that were seemingly simple, but very significant.

I think that even though we certainly will go through hard times in our lives, we should keep our eyes open for moments like this...extraordinary blessings from God, even if they are seemingly little things, simple things.

Sometimes, I think...those things mean the most.

Deck the Halls

Hey, beautiful girlz! How was your Thanksgiving? What is one thing you are genuinely thankful for?

My family and I had a great Thanksgiving! Some relatives were visiting, and we all went to my grandparents' house and had dinner, played BUNCO, and ate dessert. Then my cousins came over and spent the night, which was a lot of fun! I sure love my family.

Yesterday, we put up the tree and our Christmas decorations. This time of year has come SO FAST, in my opinion! I love Christmas time...it's just hard to believe it's already here!

I really enjoyed taking pictures of the Christmas decorations! It can be tricky to get the settings just right with all the lights and everything, but when you do get a good picture, it's so rewarding. I hope you enjoy these! Which one is your favorite?

See the pictures with the candles? Yep. Well...let's just say that, in the process of lighting them, I flicked the match into the group of ornaments on the table and my mom came and blew it out before it did any real damage. Then, I got too close and felt like I burned my finger, and my mom claimed I almost burned my hair! Yikes! So, I had her light the candles...

I hope you all have a fantastic month! What are some things you like doing during this time of year? Right now I'm listening to the "Frozen" soundtrack (it's GREAT) :). God bless you, girlz. Remember - if you ever have any prayer requests, feel free to post them below or email me! Jesus loves you so much...don't forget it! ♥

Dear Talia

So, for a little while now I've been reading the blog of a girl who is also named Talia. She is a beautiful girl and a talented writer, and she is very special. It is her birthday today, and I wanted to help make it extra special for her, because sometimes I think she forgets how wonderfully made she is...how loved she is.

Dear (other) Talia,
These letters were written just for you. Yes, YOU specifically. You may not know these people (and you hardly know me), but we care about you. God cares about you...more than you could ever imagine. Don't ever think that you are alone. God says in His Word that He will NEVER leave you and NEVER forsake you. I am praying for you. I hope with all my heart that you will put your trust in Jesus and give your life over to Him - to the One who bled and died and rose again...all for you, because He loves you that much. I hope these notes make your birthday a little bit more special. Much love <3 .="" p="">God bless you.
Talia

Talia,
HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY!!! I hope and pray that this will be one of the best birthdays of your life with many more to follow. I am praying for you! God the Creator has made you in His image and He loves you beyond what you could ever think or try to explain. You are precious to God and no matter what you do He STILL loves YOU and He wants you to be His daughter. The best thing I have ever done in my life and will ever do is to follow after Christ and believe in Him and that He died to wipe away every sin I have committed and I know that He loves me and will never forget me even when others may forget our birthdays He will never forget but we have to believe that He did that for us! Happy birthday Talia! I'm praying for you and I love you even if you have no clue who I am and most importantly God loves YOU! ~Christina (I'm also 16!)

Talia,
On your sweet sixteen I hope that you can know the love of a Father who sees you and knows you deeper than you could ever dream. He's bigger than our fears, our failures, our disappointment, and He is our Daddy that we can run to when we feel alone. You are special and loved, and YOU, Talia, were created with PURPOSE. I hope that someday you can accept the greatest birthday gift a person could ever receive-the love of Jesus. He knows what it's like to be alone, cut, and wounded. He bears your scars :) I wish you a happy birthday, Talia, and I wish I could meet you face to face to give you a great big hug and princess crown on your special day.
Love, Brydon

Dear Talia,
I know life is really rough right now. I understand what it feels like to feel like you are all alone in this world. Sometimes, I listen to music just to make myself feel like I belong. I'm so sorry that no one will be there physically for your birthday, but, remember that we are all here! We're here for your birthday! we want to make the absolute best birthday in the history of birthdays for you! Try listening to these songs for a little encouragement. Just look them up on YouTube or something: "Emily" by Francesca Battistelli, "Worth It" by Francesca Battistelli, "Beautiful" by MercyMe, "Just Another Birthday" by Casting Crowns, and "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato. I hope you know that you're not alone. God loves you. God made you. He made you perfectly, and He will always be there for you. It might feel like everyone has left you, but God will never leave you.
Sincerely, Meena

Talia,
I have found comfort throughout my life knowing that I have a God who cares more deeply for me than I can imagine and loves me even though I mess up.
These are some verses that show just how aware He is of every one of our struggles:
You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

(Psalm 139:1-6 and 16)
Each of us is so important to the Creator of the universe that He knows even every thought we have! I'm praying for you, Talia. Happy Birthday!
Love,
Mary

Talia, Did you know that there is Someone who loves you right now? Yes, in spite of all that you’re going through, He still adores you at a level that is incomparable. The best part is that nothing you have done or ever will do can make Him love you any less or any more. All He wants of you is that you believe in Him. Yes, this One who loves you is Jesus Christ, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. He made you and is madly in love with you.

However, I want to establish that this does not mean that after you believe in Him, your life is going to be all roses and rainbows. In fact, life will likely be harder. But God wants you to grow to love and depend on Him more, the reason why He gives you tribulation. If you’re forced to have faith in Him, your life will be enriched. And you have eternal life in Heaven to look forward to when you die.
I think you are a wonderful creation that has incredible potential in God’s Name. You are not worthless. You. Are. Loved.
-Caleb =)

Dear Talia,
I see your words, and feel your deep pain. I want to encourage you today. When I was your age, I didn't know God and in some respects had a normal life, but was hiding some dark secrets. I too felt lost. When we are in the middle of difficult circumstances, it seems as though they will never end. Perhaps that no one really understands.

Fight those feelings Talia. I promise, things can change for the better. My life as an adult woman is rich and full and secure. Not because the world is easy, but because God loves me. And, He loves you too. No matter our actions, he seeks us out and desires to have relationship with you. He will never let you walk alone.

It wasn't easy getting to this place, but I trust 100% that it can be part of your future. I don't know you, but I have love for you as I type these words. It is part of being in the family of god. Loving each other. I hope someone in your nearby world is ready to walk with you too. But, I promise there is always hope.

Jeremiah "GOD told them, "I've never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love and more love."

Praying for you tonight, Christa

We love you, Talia...and most importantly, God loves you. Happy Sweet Sixteen ♥.
