Homosexuality: Follow-up

I posted my thoughts on homosexuality a little while back, and I thought I'd clear a couple things up. Also, I noted a flaw in my logic that I'd like to clear up as well.

First of all, I want to apologize for comparing homosexual people to crack addicts. I know that if it was me, I wouldn't want to be compared to a crack addict. That was a bit harsh, so I hope you will all accept my apology.

Secondly, in my post I said that there are more homosexual people now than there were a couple hundred years ago. This was just an assumption; I don't know for sure. (Take Sodom and Gomorrah, for instance) I guess, now homosexuality is just more accepted now.

I still stand by my anti-homosexuality beliefs 100%, but I came across a bit harsh in my last post on homosexuality, and I wanted to apologize for that. I am extremely opinionated, and if I feel very strongly about something I most likely will not keep it inside :-).

I read this post on Bleah's blog, and I completely agree with it. She quotes a minister from the Bible School:

What if we really loved them and stopped fighting them. What it we stopped making them hate Jesus by dropping bombs on everything they do. You really want them to be free? Stop preaching at them and love them the way Jesus did and pray that the Father would reveal his Son to them.

I could fight you forever about why I think homosexuality is wrong, but if you are very set in your beliefs as well, where will that get anyone? We both know we most likely can't change each other's minds. (not saying people have to be totally quiet about their beliefs, though. No!) I think I need to just start loving homosexual people with the love of God. It's not that I don't love them, and it's not that I think of myself as "holier than thou," because I most certainly DON'T, but...telling homosexual people over and over how wrong they are isn't pointing them to Jesus. It's just turning them away from God and making them think that God doesn't love them or that God is a mean God. I'm not saying that I support gay marriage at all. I'm not saying I think gay marriage should be legal. But I AM saying that we should treat homosexual people with love - Christ's love. We don't have to support what they do, but we can be friends to them, and pray that they will come to know the LORD.

I never really thought much on this subject. I had heard of it, and knew what it was, but I just figured that when I grew up I was going to marry a great man, and go on with my life. I would say that I am against homosexuality, because God said that He specificly made man for a woman, and a woman for a man.
