"I'll Do it Later"

The Left Behind (The Kids) books and the Left Behind movies always get me thinking about the Rapture (and Tribulation) and how although there will be many Christians raptured (taken up to heaven with and by God), there will be so many nonchristians still on earth...scared, confused, angry, depressed, feeling hopeless...searching. It will seem to some like God is just a big meany that doesn't care about them, when in truth He cares about them more than they could ever imagine. The thing is, many people put off, ignore, and turn their backs on salvation. They might pretend to be a Christian, or maybe they flat-out hate anything to do with God and Jesus Christ. Maybe they think it's too late for them to accept Christ, or maybe they think they're too bad and sinful. Or maybe they think, "Hey, I'll get saved later. I've got time. I want to live it up right now, but I'll get serious about God when I'm older." What they don't realize - or know but won't admit - is that they don't know how much time they have left. Today could very well be their last.

Judd walked stiff-legged back to his seat and heard Buck tell Mrs. Peterson, "Apparently many people are missing." She looked afraid and puzzled. Judd was afraid too, but he wasn't puzzled. As the pilot came over the intercom, pleading for people to remain calm, the full realization of what had happened hit Judd. He didn't know how many other people on the plane had any idea, but he sure did. Christ had come as he promised and raptured his church. Judd lowered his face into his hands and shuddered. It was the worst nightmare imaginable, and he was wide awake. He, and most of the passengers on that plane, had been left behind.

We don't know how long we have left. We could die this minute, this day, this week...we don't know. So let me plead you as a friend to a friend to believe with all your heart that God is truth, and accept Christ's forgiveness, love, and salvation. The road from there on will not be easy, but I promise you - God promises - that it will be worth it. It will be worth it.

Matthew 24:36
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father."

Revelation 1:3
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Acts 2:21
And everyone who calls on the Name of the LORD will be saved.

““I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14-15 NIV

John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
