"I'm not holding onto You, but You're holding on to me." - Casting Crowns, East to WestThe song "East to West" by Casting Crowns came on shuffle as I was getting ready today. When it got to the part where it says, "I'm not holding on to You, but You're holding onto me," it tugged at my heart. Because that is so true.
"How can I show love to someone who constantly rejects me?" - Caleb, Fireproof
We don't "find" God. And He doesn't "find" us. He doesn't need to. He's always right there. He was never hiding. Sure, we find faith in God, but what we need to realize is that God is holding onto us, even though we don't always hold onto Him. We do our own thing, go our own way, yet God stays by our side. He loves us anyway, and He welcomes us with open arms every time we come back to Him.
Some people don't understand how God can be loving with all the bad that is happening in the world today. But what they cease to understand is that God allows bad things to happen for a reason. That doesn't mean He wants you to feel depressed or alone. He doesn't. But He wants to show you something through those hard times and draw you closer to Him and to His heart. He wants you to be after His heart and know that no matter what you go through, no matter what you do, He will always hold onto you. He is enough for us. We don't need to pursue anything or anyone else but Him. God, You are enough. I'm sorry I run away.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT)
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
