Catching Up on 'Days'...and a Confession

Firstly, my confession. I was going to take a week-long Internet break. I didn't. I didn't even last a whole two days. I used the excuse that, ok, I'm sick, it's okay if I go on my e-mail, but I won't answer a lot... Yikes, what a lame excuse. It's true, I was sick. It's true, I had a temperature over 100. It's true, I'm still "sniffly." But it's also true that I did the wrong thing. I know that it was my decision to do this 'bloggity break' thing, but I still feel like God wanted me to do it, too. And the fact that I didn't do it makes me feel like I've let Him down. But you know what? God can use my mistakes. He always can. In Genesis 50:19-20, Joseph says to his brothers (who sold him into slavery), “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Although I went on the Internet because I wanted to, God used that for GOOD! And He did that when I went on a blog I found on a friend's blog, Meditations of His Love. The most recent post was written by Rachel, and it was called "Changing." (click here to go to it) That really touched my heart, and I felt like God wanted me to read that. I highly encourage you to read it, too. And what I want you to get from this post is NOT to do the wrong thing on purpose, but to know that if you do mess up, God has a good plan and can change your mistakes and other people's mistakes for the better...for the glory of the LORD.

Now, I'm a little behind on the whole '28 Days' thing. For a little I was thinking about discontinuing doing them, because this blog shouldn't be about me. It should be solely about Jesus. But I think I am going to keep on doing the days, but using them to share God's glory. Hey, who said it couldn't be done?

Sanctus Real and a Bloggity Break :-)

Hey, y'all! Recently, me, my sister & dad & grandpa and some friends went to a Sanctus Real and Lybecker concert! It was really fun, and I really liked it when Sanctus Real played their song Forgiven. It's true - all we have to do is ask Jesus and really mean it, and He will forgive us!

{here's a pic my dad took of my sis and I with Sanctus Real}

Other than going to the concert, I thought I'd tell you that I'm taking a little bloggity break for a week. I want to really focus on God this week (and spending time with family and such & such), and sometimes (Ok, a lot of the time) the computer can be a huge distraction. I know, I do post on here about God a lot and about what He wants. But, like, I really wanna learn something new from Him this week, and I dunno if the internet is going to help with that (most likely not). So I'll be seeing y'all later!

-Jeremiah 29:13-
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Your Safe Place

Day 16: A Song That Makes Me Cry

Not a lot of songs make me right-out cry, to be honest, but One Life to Love by 33Miles and Because You're Mine by Building 429 are most definitely songs that really touch me and make me feel like I want to cry when I listen to them, usually.
And, as Bleah did, I want to tell you a song that makes me laugh. Well, that would be None Too Ladylike by Apologetix :-).

Day 15: A Person I Admire

There are so many people I admire, it's hard to choose just one :-). But right now, I will say Sarah N. She is a great friend, and for many reasons. Whenever I talk to her, she isn't embarrassed to talk about God, and she talks about Him freely. She desires to follow His will in all she does, even if it means waiting for His perfect will. She trusts in Him, even during hard times, and she helps me stay grounded (in Jesus) and grow more to be the person God made me to be. She is inspiring, encouraging, friendly, and fun, and I really admire Sarah as a person and as a friend. I love you, Sarah!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:13

Day 14: A Vacation I Would Like to Take

I've got several, actually...:-)

First of all, Israel!!! YES!!!!!!! I would love to go to Bible places and also places I have read about in the Left Behind: The Kids books (even though I know a lot of these probably won't look the same).

Petra! I'm not exactly sure if this is in Israel or not, but it's in Left Behind and it's where the believers stay. I would love to go there. It looks so cool!

London! I just think it would be cool :-).

Italy! My parents went there, and I would love to go there! I've got a little Italian in the blood (my name is even in the name :-)), and I love Italian food, plus it would be a really cool experience!

Plus...Louisiana, Indiana, New York (I've been there but want to go again), Nebraska, and Florida!!

Day 13: Guilty Pleasure

Um, hmm....ooh! Ooh! Apple fritters :). Yum yum! At least I used to LOVE them, but we haven't been having them recently (we're being healthy!). Being healthy isn't that bad, though :).

Day Twelve: A Song You Want Played at Your Wedding

Well, since that is quite a ways off, I think some of the songs I favor will change. But a song I really like right now is "Love Never Fails" by Brandon Heath. I think that is such a beautiful song!
Click here to listen to it (it's number 7).

What Your Blog is Portraying

Psalm 119:9
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to Your Word.

I think the verse above is very true. By living according to God's Word, we can stay on the path of purity and also show Christ's love to others. But, we are not living according to God's Word when we post something on our blog that is suggestive, inappropriate, or outright opposing to God's perfect will. Romans 12:1 says to offer our bodies as living sacrifices to God. While this most likely does not mean to jump on an altar and commit suicide (definitely not!), it does mean that we should give God everything that we are and that we have - even our blog. A great analogy I heard from my friend was that this lady, a friend of hers, imagines God waiting for her when she wakes up. And she doesn't want to leave Him waiting! The truth is, God really IS waiting for us to talk to Him and listen to Him and learn from Him. Even if we are ashamed and don't want to show our faces to God, He still sees us and is still waiting for us. God even sees what we post on our blog (or even what we read on other blogs and magazines and books, watch in movies, and listen to in music). Having pure content on our blog is so much better than having nasty stuff on there, and it really DOES make an impact, and not in the nasty way the trash-filled blog would. So I want to challenge you to do something. Take a look at your blog (or what you read, watch, look at, and listen to), and eliminate (take out, delete) anything that does not please Christ. I don't mean people, of course. I think we should try to impact others for Christ. But maybe if somebody is impacting you for the worse, maybe you should try not to hang around them as much, but still be nice to them. And maybe if you have lots of bad content on your blog (or even a LITTLE), you could delete it, perhaps. If you are debating whether or not to eliminate bad things in your life, really think, "Would God want me to do/watch/look at/listen to this?" If the answer is no, then it's best to get rid of it. Oh, and one last thing...don't forget to talk to God about all the choices in your life. Remember, He's waiting, and He loves you, no matter what. Choose to live for Him today and every day.

Day Ten: A Picture of You From Over Ten Years Ago

Lemme see... well, we don't have any on the computer right now, so I will just tell you a little something about myself that was over 10 years ago :-).

Well, I liked watching Veggietales. Still do. On one (like a Christmas one or something), Bob the Tomato says, "You're killing me, Larry." So, when I got the chance, being a three-year-old and all, I said to my mom, in a somewhat sarcastic tone (from what I can remember and have been told), "You're killing me, Larry." Yes, I said that to my mother. No, her name is not Larry.

So, yeah :-)!

17 Followers! Oh my Melted Mac N' Cheese!

I apologize for all the posts today...I hope you do not mind. However, I just thought I'd say...WOW! 18 followers?! Well, technically 17 cuz one is myself? But still!! I am really happy! LOL I know some of you are rejoicing over 60 or 100 or more followers, and I want to congratulate you on that, but as for me, I am just excited for 17 :-). So thank you, followers, for following. And even if you aren't a follower, thank you for reading (even when I'm super random). And most of all, thanks to Jesus for being the great God He is! I am a follower of HIM and I hope you are too :D!

Day 9: A Picture You Took

Here's a pic I took yesterday. It does not have the best quality, but I think it is awesome cause it has a rainbow on it (on the bottom right). God is so amazing, and His promise still remains - He will never flood the entire earth again! Amazing!

Genesis 9:13
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

p.s. search 'rainbow' on more verses than I thought would come up did!

Days, I Guess :-)

Sorry for the sorta-lame title! On other blogs, they're doing this thing were they post a different thing each day. I'm not sure where I found the list, but I guess I'll just see what to post about on other blogs :-).

As for today, well...I have some catching up to do! So sorry that today's post is going to be, like, over 5 days! I hope it won't usually be like that! :-)

Oh, wait! I found the list! OK, nevermind the randomness of the above paragraph :-). Thanks!

Photo Contests!

Guess what, everyone? Danielle from My Paper Heart is having a (an?) ROFL (Rolling on the Floor Laughing) Photo Challenge! I thought I would do a pretty 'literal' photo in, literally "rolling on the floor laughing!" Haha! Hope you like it :-). God bless you ~ and have a great day!

p.s. Thanks to my brother for letting me draw in permanent ink on his toy :-)!

I'm also entering a contest on Joyful Girl Creations.

Here's my entry for that contest.

Love Never Fails

Listening to That Little Voice

Ever heard a little voice in your head and thought, I know what I'm supposed to do? Or maybe not a voice, just an inside-nudge or feeling that you should do something? I know I have. And I know I always, always regret it if I don't listen to that Little Voice. I heard it at the park. A couple kids were playing in the sand, and I had a nudge inside to go and ask them, "Hey, you wanna hear a story?" then tell them about Jesus. But you know what? I didn't. And we left the park. And I regret it. When I was at the store with a friend and we were buying a newspaper, I felt a nudge tell me to say, "God bless you," to the utility clerk when we were leaving. But I didn't. And I regret it.

I also remember times that I have listened to that Little Voice. I introduced myself to a girl at the orthodontist. I talked when I felt shy. I spoke up at summer camp when we were sharing things we had learned. I told my friend that I'd pray for her when she was going through a hard time.

Have you ever heard that little voice or felt that little nudge? I'm sure we all have at one time or another (or will soon, that's for sure). But you know what? I think that voice is God. Really. When you know that you should do the right thing, even though others are encouraging you to go with the flow, I think that's God telling you to do what's right. I know it can be a LOT tougher listening to that little voice, but when we do, it will be rewarding, even if we don't think so at the time. Here's are a few quotes from that I think apply.

"We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"We can walk without fear, full of hope and courage and strength to do His will, waiting for the endless good which He is always giving as fast as He can get us able to take it in." - George Macdonald

"Beloved, I say, let your fears go, lest they make you fainthearted. Stop inspiring fear in those around you and now take your stand in faith. God has been good and He will continue to manifest His goodness........ Let us approach these days expecting to see the goodness of the Lord manifest. Let us be strong and of good courage, for the Lord will fight for us if we stand in faith." -  Francis Frangipane

"The badge of courage does not require that we walk through something dangerous. It simply requires that we continue to share God's love whenever and wherever we are." - Tom White

"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin." - Mother Teresa
"The beautiful thing about this adventure called faith is that we can count on Him never to lead us astray."
- Charles (Chuck) Swindoll

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." - Jim Elliot

"We ought not to be weary of doing little things for the love of God, who regards not the greatness of the work, but the love with which it is performed." - Brother Lawrence

It's wise to listen to that Little Voice. After all, God has many ways of showing us His love and His will. And I'm sure this is one of them.

It's Over!

The surgery is over. Sarah's dad and Mr. Bruce are okay, although Sarah's dad hasn't waken up yet (he's supposed to at 6 pm Eastern time). Thank you all so much for your prayers. God is amazing!!!
This morning I woke up suddenly at 3 am and couldn't go back to sleep, so I prayed for them. I think that was God. He's so incredible!

And So Our Journey Begins

Please be in Prayer

Please be in prayer for my friend Sarah and her family. Sarah has been a huge blessing in my life, and right now her and her family are in PA. Her dad and his donor are soon going to go through surgery for a kidney transplant. This is a very serious thing, so please be in prayer for them. We know God is amazing and can do incredible things, and we know He has a perfect plan, whatever that may be. Please keep them in your prayers!

And So Our Journey Begins

A Miracle From God

Girlz 4 God: Miracle

God has a plan!

Your Secret Sin

I recently read a snippet of wisdom out of an awesome and inspiring devotional book I'm reading, A Young Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. In the SOW (Snipped of Wisdom), she says...

"Becoming more like Christ is a process of spiritual growth that requires dealing with sin. And taking the confession of sin seriously during prayer time moves that process along, causing us to purge our life of practices that are not pleasing to God. Now, do what I did (and still do). Pinpoint one practice in your life that you know is not pleasing to God, a practice or habit that is, in fact, directly opposed to His Word...Then pray about it - every day. (Pray about it every minute of every day, if you have to!) And confess it to God when you fail. Ask God to help you create a plan of action to radically remove it from your life."

Wow! When I was reading this, I thought of one thing that I know is wrong, yet I do it anyway. I'm working on handing that over to Jesus, because I know He's got a plan. It's like writing your secret sin on a piece of paper marked "confidential." You don't want anyone to see it. In fact, you think you'd die if someone did! But what we need to learn to do is to take that "confidential" paper with your "favorite" secret sin, and hand that over to Jesus. With God, all is possible. Just trust Him; He won't let you go. And He can handle that secret sin. It isn't too big to conquer Him. And if you trust in Jesus, it won't be too big to conquer you, either.
