Choose Life

As I've just discovered on Miss Raquel's blog, God's Daughter, yesterday was the 38th anniversary of the day that the law was passed to allow abortion. Before you ditch this blog post because you think you've "seen so many like this and don't care to see anymore," please hear me out. It has been proved that when babies are aborted, they are actually already breathing and living beings, although many people don't believe that. I believe that abortion is murder. There are so many other options besides abortion. God has created every single life for a purpose to bring Him glory. Let's be in prayer for everyone faced with the decision right now, and let's pray for our political leaders to see this as long and stop it. Let's pray that people faced with decisions about abortion would choose life.

The Procrastinator! (duh duh duuuuuhhhh)

Tia lazily moved the covers aside and got out of bed. She looked at her bedside clock. It said 6:30 am. "Ugh," she groaned aloud. "Why do I have to wake up so early?" Seconds earlier, her mother had come in and woken her up, which did not make her happy. Just then, Tia's mom poked her head in the door. "Tia, I don't want to force you to do anything, but don't you think you should do your devotions today?" Tia shrugged. "Sure, Mom," she said so her mother would go. "I'll do them soon." Tia gave the clock another look. "Maybe after breakfast." She said. By dinnertime, Tia still hadn't done her devotions. "Well, there's always tomorrow," she said to her mother. But tomorrow came and went, and so did her thoughts of doing her devotions.

Have you ever procrastinated? I know I have (a loootttt!). Does God like procrastination? Well, I don't think he does. I think he should be our FIRST priority, not second or third...or dead LAST. If it seems like there's just not time for your devotionals or something else you need to do that is important, I suggest making time. God will wait for you. But don't you think procrastination hurts his feelings, just like it would hurt YOUR feelings if your best friend didn't want to spend time with you?

Until Then...

The crowd, filled with smiling faces belonging to the people you love, stands as you walk down the isle with your arm wrapped around your father's. Moments before your entrance, two flower girls tossed petals on the very ground you are now walking. All eyes are on you as you smile at your family and friends, dressed in a gorgeous, white gown with your hair in an elegant style, a veil covering your face. Your eyes search the area around you, and then they stop directly in front of you. There is your 'Prince Charming', looking handsome and kind and gentle-manly and proud as you walk towards him. Your father smiles at you before taking a seat, and you walk to your soon-to-be husband. He takes your hand and slides a sparkling ring on your finger. You look into his eyes as he pulls back the veil and a tear trickles down your cheek - a tear of joy. You smile as you say the words you have known for so long but have never said in this setting..."I do."


Don't we all want this to happen to us someday? Maybe you don't, but I think a lot of you do. For many of you, it may one of your dreams to say those words - "I do" - to look into the eyes of your true love, and to realize that what you've been dreaming about for so long has finally come true. And wouldn't it be wonderful to wear a white dress and to know that you have stayed pure for this one man, and here he is? Wouldn't it be comforting to know that you've waited so long for this one man, and God brought him into your life? Wouldn't that be worth the wait, to find the man you find yourself marrying?

But, are you even supposed to think about this stuff now? And what can you do to prepare for possible marriage one day, if God's plan for you includes marriage?

Well, I think it is awesome that more and more girls are deciding to remain pure until marriage...emtotionally and physically. By not giving themselves away, even in the things they do and say, they are saving themselves for their future husbands. I read an analogy in a book called Ask Bethany by Bethany Hamilton with Doris Rikkers. Her analogy for boyfriend-girlfriend relationships was really cool. She said that if you take one piece of colored paper - a boy - and another piece of differently colored paper - a girl - and stapled them together, then tried to tear them apart, what would happen? Pieces of the other gets stuck on the other paper. It's a lot like that with guy-girl relationships. When you give a piece of your heart away to a guy who is NOT your husband, it is like tearing two pieces of stapled paper apart from each other. It's painful. It hurts. And it leaves scarrs and tears.

Why go through all the emotional pain, when God is writing your love story? Why flirt with lots of boys, when God only has ONE in mind for you? Why do things you know are inappropriate just to get attention from boys?

One thing that I think is very true is that it is sooo not worth it to change who you are so that a boy will like you. Most times, girls get into relationships with boys that do not last. Some think it is wrong to live together, others don't. I personally do think it is wrong, because that IS giving away a part of yourself.

Why throw away your virginity when it is so precious? Why throw away pieces of yourself? Why give them to a guy who is not and will never be your future spouse? Some girls think they are in love with certain guys, only to find out that what they consider 'love' isn't really true love at all. So my advice? Don't waste yourself. Wait for God's will. Wear a white dress on your wedding day. It will be very rewarding, and it will be worth the wait. Trust me. No, trust God. He's writing your love story, and He will bring your Prince Charming to you when the time is right. So wait - and trust.

Revision (AKA 'The Fun Part')

If you're a writer, you probably know what revision is and have tried it in some form. Well, right now, I'm editing my NaNoWriMo novel. It's actually not as long and tiring as I thought, but I do know that it takes hard work and perserverance, just like writing does. In the Bible, it tells us to persevere, and I think that's great! Perseverance not only develops character (a good character), but it is also sooo rewarding! So, I'd say to persevere because God wants us to, and He's got a perfect plan :).

There's no "Ugh" in "Blog"...or is There?

Ever had a day where your blog just wouldn't cooperate? Okay, maybe it was you who couldn't find it out, but still! Anyway, back to the point (wait, I was already on the point! Haha!)... I'm trying to figure out why the gadget headers to the right and also the date about the posts is so GINORMO! I mean, really...why?! LOL! :) So, while I debate on whether there's an 'ugh' in 'blog' or not, I need to remember that God's more concered about what I say in my blog than how big the font is (go a couple posts back and we cover this topic). If I'm not glorifying Him, then why do I have this Ugh? Whoops...I mean, blog?

I'm Waiting For...

So I found this on Emii's blog, Girlz 4 God, and then saw that she had found it on Anna's blog, Sisters in the Savior (both a couple of my fave blogs). What you do is say 'I'm Waiting For...' and put who it is below. Okay, I'm not really explaining this well! You put someone from a movie or book that you would like your future husband to be like (or at least a little bit like). So I did Prince Charming (not very original, is it? But oh well!). You can scroll down to see it (it's on the right). But, as Anna says, "But until then, I’ll just have to wait. 'Cause God's writing my love story. New Year...New Look...New Giveaway?

p.s. Today was fantabulous! And you wanna know why? I feel GREAT! I got to do my devos this morning and read three chapters from Genesis (even though we were busy getting ready for church).
