When the Going Gets Tough...

Have you ever felt like God was absent? Have you ever doubted that He's omnipresent (always there)? It's easy to trust Him during good times, but what about when the going gets tough? Do you still trust Him?

Today, many prayers are being said for this baby, Kahlia. Today she is having an open-heart surgery that could be fatal. But you know what I love? On a recent blog post, Kahlia's mother, Michelle, says, "Though scared, I feel peace." Later she goes on to say, "Again - thank you to all who have been praying for our family - we really feel God's covering during this stressful time. God is in control - we know that." How awesome is that? Even in such a tough situation, Michelle feels at peace because she knows God is in control.

So what do you do when the going gets tough? Think about it. Some people blame God (or their family or their friends...). Others give up on trusting in Him completely. Some doubt whether God answers prayer - whether He's the good God He says He is or not.

As you ponder those things, I'd like to share 3 awesome truths and Bible verses with you...

God has good plans for your life
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

God answers prayers - even in ways we don't expect
Jeremiah 33:2-3 (NKJV) 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'

God's love is amazing
Romans 8:38-39 (NLT) And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below - indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 54:10 (NIV) "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor My covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

So no matter the circumstance, remember that God is omnipresent, He is GOOD, He is loving, and He is faithful and trustworthy.

"It is in these times that we can do nothing but rest in the arms of Jesus, and for that I am SO VERY GRATEFUL." - Michelle Roberts, RobertsFamilyBlog.
