Thankful List

While you can still comment on the worship post (scroll down 2 see), I thought I'd post on being thankful. I admit I can be un-thankful a L-O-T. I can get caught up in what I can't do, what I'm not gifted in, what I'm upset about, what someone else has, what seems unfair, etc. - and I don't take the time to realize what I do have and what God has gifted me with. I think it's a great idea to make a Thankful List (this is a list of things you are thankful for). You can do this if you want to, but you don't have to. You can make a list or keep a list in a book or notebook about things you are thankful for. You could make a big list one day or start with one thing/person and keep adding each day you write there. I think those are both good ideas. You could keep track of things you are thankful for, how God has blessed you, and things He has done for you.

Here are some of the things I'm thankful for...

I'm thankful for snow days, a beautiful, colored sky, a blue sky with puffy white clouds, hot cocoa on cold days. I'm thankful for laughs with friends about funny or silly things. I am thankful for my family - my talented sister, who is a great friend, my brother, who is a friend who is silly and unique, my little sister who has such a fun personality and can make me smile and laugh a lot, my mother, who challenges me, and who I go on walks with and talk to, and my father, who is very talented and also focused on doing what God wants. I'm thankful for my best friends and teasing friends who enjoy it heartily. I'm thankful for malls and Orange Julius and Dutch Bros' smoothies. I'm thankful for my cat, for nature, technology (when used for God's glory). I'm thankful for my email and the telephone and cameras and memory cards and memory card readers, even if they don't always work. I'm thankful for gorgeous flowers and fireworks that light up the sky. I'm thankful for certain kinds of animals and movies and music that makes me want to sing to God or dance around. I'm thankful that God made me, and for what He did, and how amazing and loving He is.

Those are just some of the things and people on my list. I know you can think of lots too. Your list does not have to be super-long or super-short or super-in-between or anything - it can be whatever length. Just remember to really thank God for everything. He's amazing!

God bless you!

p.s. if you would like to comment on this post, you can tell me one or more thing or person that you're thankful for. Excited to hear from you!!! :) <3

Will be Back Posting Soon!

Hey, everyone! So sorry I haven't posted in a while - I've been grounded (from disrespectfulness and complaining and other stuff). Bad me :'(. I will hopefully be back posting soon!!! Meanwhile, if you want to, you can comment on the below post about worship and you can also work on your summer challenges (scroll down to see post)! Have a great God-summer!

What is Worship?

Hey everyone! I hope your Wednesday is going well :). I thought we'd discuss worship a little more...

Bookworm said worship to her means telling God how much you love Him and telling Him that you want to know Him even more. She also says her fave way to worship is writing stories to glorify God. That's awesome, Bookworm.

Let's talk about what she said -

Worship can be like a token of our love for God - a way we express that love for Him. I think that's what Bookworm was trying to say in her answer. We're saying, "I love You, God, and I want to love and know You even more. I want to live my life for You. You are in charge now. You can have everything. I'm Yours." Worship is glorifying God, and it's also any way you express your love for God, and express that you want to live - completely - for Him.

Let's talk about different types of worship...

(Above) Bookworm said that her favorite way to worship is by writing stories to glorify God. I think that's a great idea! But, it may not be the right choice for you if you absolutely despise writing. I'm not saying just because you don't like to do something makes it wrong (I think doing hard - not stupid - things that glorify God is awesome!). I'm saying if writing makes you cringe, it may not be your fave way to talk to God and really worship Him. But please keep this in mind: If you are really worshipping God - expressing your love for Him, living for God, etc. - then that form of worship is not wrong.
Maybe your form of worshipping is different from someone you know. But, you know what? Embrace that! Use your God-given talents (e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e has them) to worship God. He loves that!

Later on, we'll be talking about more ways to worship. For now, you can (again) comment your fave way to worship and what worship is to you. Then we'll talk about your answers. If you have already posted on your favorite way to worship and what worship means to you, you can post why you worship. We'll be talking about those answers too! I'll probably (maybe) be posting next week.

May God bless you!

- Psalm 103:1-4 -
Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.

Worship... in MANY Ways!

Hey, girls! First of all, I just want you to check out the polls on the right side of the page. Can you believe how many unique and different Children of God there are in the world? God is amazing! And even if you aren't in God's fam yet, you are unique and created for a purpose! Just thought I'd let you gals known that you are totally unique and awesome - God made you awesomely! Shine 4 Him :)!

Well, today some family members and I, and also a friend of ours, got the privilege of leading worship at church! It was awesome! God is great! Although you don't have to, you can comment and you can tell me what you think worship is and your favorite kind of worship, if you have one. If you don't, that's fine too. Later we'll talk more about the subject.

God bless you! He loves you no matter what.

p.s.((hint)) Worship doesn't have to be perfect!

Summer Challenge

I watched them play in the park sand - my friend, sculpting a sand frog, the young girl with her cute, curly hair, and her brother (I think), who was maybe a few years older than her, making some kind of 'mountain hellfire' out of sand, or something like that (he said). I felt a small tug.
I could just picture sitting with them on the sand and asking, "Hey, do you guys wanna hear a story?" and telling them about Jesus. But I didn't. I wasted the opportunity. Pretty soon, it was time to leave the park. I don't know if I'll ever see those kids again, but at the park I just wasted the chance to shine Jesus' love and light into those kids' world. I don't know about you, but I'm very sad that we hear so many stories about people who saw the opportunity and blew it - didn't do it, didn't listen to God, hesitated from being obedient. I want us to change things this summer. I want this summer to be a rockin' God-summer, not a me-summer (where everything is about me). What about you? Do you want to make this summer a God-summer...or a you-summer?

So I want to tell you a challenge. You can choose to participate, but you don't have to. I'm going to try to do this challenge this summer, and I hope you'll join me. I'm going to show you a list of different challenges, all of which to complete this summer. (if you don't do it this summer you can do it throughout the year, too) After summer is over or you have completed the challenges, you can tell me how you did! I'm not sure if there is going to be a prize or not for anyone who completes this challenge. What do you think?

I hope you'll join me. God can change your summer and you, if you will let Him!

Here are the challenges (which you don't have to do in any particular order):

Tell someone about Jesus

Do one thing you're scared to do (I think this one will be especially hard for me!) (but not something dangerous)

Try one new thing you've never tried before (like food from a different country or a new sport)

Compliment someone who annoys you (say something kind that you mean, though, like 'I like your sweatshirt!' if you really do like it)

Invite someone shy/new/scared/nervous/going through a hard time/etc. to sit with you somewhere like at church or school or at a concert or on the bus.

Set a personal summer goal and try (really try) to achieve it!

(Remember prayer is just talking to God. You don't have to do this challenge if you don't want to) Pray for someone you don't necessarily like

So that's it! I hope you have a great GOD-summer!!!

If you want to, you can write down these challenges in a notebook or type them on your computer and check them off when you finish them.
I'd love to hear about your challenges! Later, I'll tell you about some (or all) of mine too!

Also, here's another challenge for you! I'd like you to try to read your Bible every day from July 1st to September 1st - that's two whole months (July and August)! (you can read longer or shorter than that if you want to) It's hard remembering to read the Bible every day, huh? There are lots of ways to remember - putting up a fun, decorated-by-you sign in your bedroom that says something that will remind you to spend time in God's Word - the Bible - and with God, talking to Him :)! Your quiet time can be lots of fun too, and we'll be talking more about that on the blog. For now, I want to wish you a great GOD-summer!

What's Up With Us

Hey all! I just thought I'd let you know what's up with us...

Well, right now our friends are visiting from a few hours away. It's really fun. I'm glad we get to see them :).

Today we're meeting up with some friends for dinner. I think that will be fun!

Tomorrow is church! I'm excited!

Thank you so much for your support and encouragements! May God bless you!

Talk soon, gals!

Your sister in Christ, ♥

What Faith Can Do

A song I really like is "What Faith Can Do" by Kutless. Amazing!! A great example of this is my friend M. Faith. She trusted in God, and He blessed her! She won 2nd place in a teddy bear design contest! Way to go, GOD! Check out her awesome blog post here. GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

M. Faith's design was made into a teddy bear!
