Doing Something

This morning, it looked pretty much like a do-nothing kind of day for me. Not doing NOTHING, but going on the computer, doing whatever, yah know? Although all of today wasn't a 'do-nothing' day, I have been thinking about it. Get this - wouldn't it be totally awesome to fill up your doing-nothing time with God-time? Think about it! You could hang with God! How awesome!!! Here are a few fun ideas for ways you could fill up that do-nothin' time...

* Talk to God (just like you would a best friend or very close family member). He loves to hear from you!

* Read your Bible - there are awesome stories in there (from action to romance to obeying God...and more!!!)!

* Read a good Christian book. Here are some I personally like -

faiThGirLz! Blog On! Series by Dandi Daley Mackall

faiThGirLz! Sophie Series by Nancy Rue (although I haven't read all of them)

Tales of Cunburra and Other Stories by Kara Siert

The Lily Series by Nancy Rue

Beauty Lab by Nancy Rue

Everybody Tells me to be Myself, but I Don't Know Who I Am: Building Your Self Esteem by Nancy Rue

The Princess and the Kiss by Jennie Bishop

The Incredible Worlds of Wallie McDoogle Series by Bill Meyers (although I haven't read all of them)

* Write in a journal (you could write to God ☺!). I have the journal Me, Myself, and God: A Whole New View of God and You, and so far it's awesome! (by the way, some of these books are available at Tales of Cunburra and Other Stories is available at

* Praise! Singing and dancing to your fave Christian music and just worshipping God!

* Using your talents to glorify God. Do you like to paint? Paint a drawing that is for God or inspires you to live for Him! Do you play the piano (or guitar, or drums, or the trumpet, or the trombone, or the saxaphone, or the triangle, or more?)? Play for God and praise Him! Are you good at cheering others up? Share God's joy and love with them! Everyone has a God-given talent, even if you don't know you do.

* Watch a Christian movie you like. Here are some good ones (please ask a parent or guardian's permission before watching the movies to make sure it's OK):

Facing the Giants

Time Changer

VeggieTales (multiple movies)

Narnia (allegorical)

Love Comes Softly (I don't think this is Christian, but it is a good family movie) (I don't know if I've seen every single movie in the Love Comes Softly series. Some parts may not be suitable for children who are frightened easily. Please talk to a parent or guardian first!)

* Type to God! Journals can be on the computer too! If you'd like it to be private, go to 'Save As...', click 'Options', and there you can make a password for your journal. You may want to write it down somewhere so you don't forget!

I hope you have an awesome do-something day with God!!!
