Doing Something

This morning, it looked pretty much like a do-nothing kind of day for me. Not doing NOTHING, but going on the computer, doing whatever, yah know? Although all of today wasn't a 'do-nothing' day, I have been thinking about it. Get this - wouldn't it be totally awesome to fill up your doing-nothing time with God-time? Think about it! You could hang with God! How awesome!!! Here are a few fun ideas for ways you could fill up that do-nothin' time...

* Talk to God (just like you would a best friend or very close family member). He loves to hear from you!

* Read your Bible - there are awesome stories in there (from action to romance to obeying God...and more!!!)!

* Read a good Christian book. Here are some I personally like -

faiThGirLz! Blog On! Series by Dandi Daley Mackall

faiThGirLz! Sophie Series by Nancy Rue (although I haven't read all of them)

Tales of Cunburra and Other Stories by Kara Siert

The Lily Series by Nancy Rue

Beauty Lab by Nancy Rue

Everybody Tells me to be Myself, but I Don't Know Who I Am: Building Your Self Esteem by Nancy Rue

The Princess and the Kiss by Jennie Bishop

The Incredible Worlds of Wallie McDoogle Series by Bill Meyers (although I haven't read all of them)

* Write in a journal (you could write to God ☺!). I have the journal Me, Myself, and God: A Whole New View of God and You, and so far it's awesome! (by the way, some of these books are available at Tales of Cunburra and Other Stories is available at

* Praise! Singing and dancing to your fave Christian music and just worshipping God!

* Using your talents to glorify God. Do you like to paint? Paint a drawing that is for God or inspires you to live for Him! Do you play the piano (or guitar, or drums, or the trumpet, or the trombone, or the saxaphone, or the triangle, or more?)? Play for God and praise Him! Are you good at cheering others up? Share God's joy and love with them! Everyone has a God-given talent, even if you don't know you do.

* Watch a Christian movie you like. Here are some good ones (please ask a parent or guardian's permission before watching the movies to make sure it's OK):

Facing the Giants

Time Changer

VeggieTales (multiple movies)

Narnia (allegorical)

Love Comes Softly (I don't think this is Christian, but it is a good family movie) (I don't know if I've seen every single movie in the Love Comes Softly series. Some parts may not be suitable for children who are frightened easily. Please talk to a parent or guardian first!)

* Type to God! Journals can be on the computer too! If you'd like it to be private, go to 'Save As...', click 'Options', and there you can make a password for your journal. You may want to write it down somewhere so you don't forget!

I hope you have an awesome do-something day with God!!!

Patience *Update*

~ Colossians 3:12 ~
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

We ordered the book, and it should arrive any day now, and I need to remember this verse - and remember to be patient while waiting for it! Those who wait are blessed - those who do what God says are blessed ♥.

The book came!!!!!!! I'm sooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a picture of me with the book:

Great things come to those who wait for God's will!!! AHHH!!!!

Here's a pic of our celebration dinner!

Fast-Spreading Fire

Hey there! This is my second 'official' blog post, and I want to talk about 2 things - what happened today, and being careful of what we say. First of all...

Today we went to a restaurant (where we also saw some friends), and while we were eating my dad told me someone there he knew had talked to him about me getting my book published! I was surprised! Word spreads quickly - like fire! I want to link this to what I want to say to you as well - and that is that we should watch what we say. If I say something that displeases God, I know it sure makes me (and GOD) feel bad. How about you? Think about that. And spreading rumors and gossip is not great either. I'm totally guilty of it, too. And NOT proud of it! So today I want to tell you to be careful about what you say. Let's try to make our words be only God-glorifying. If we come to a situation and we don't know if God would say what we want to say or not (that was a confusing sentence - sorry!), we should think: What would Jesus do? Would he talk about a PG-13 movie that your best friend claimed was so awesome because of all the blood and gore? No, I don't think so. Would he brag about how your volleyball team is so going to show up the other team? No. Just remember - don't let your words be a fast-spreading fire. Do what Jesus would do.

Great Plans for YOU

Hey there! My name is Talia, and I'm the author of the book Girlz of God, which was recently published through a self-publishing site, I wanted to make this blog not only to give you information about the book, but to help you learn more about God and grow closer to Him, meet other Christian girls your age, and have a lot of fun! To start off this blog, I want to post an awesome Bible verse...

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "Plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Isn't that awesome? Let's talk about it...

The beginning of the verse says: '"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord.'
That means that God has GREAT plans for you. He knows the plans He has for you - and, lemme tell you, they're fabulous! I know you may go through hard times where you feel like there is absolutely NO plan for your life. I know you might think that no one gets it or understands you or listens to you. You're not alone. Tons of girls feel that way. Trust me, I feel misunderstood and not listened to sometimes as well. The great news is that God loves you, and guess what, girl? He has an AWESOME plan for you! Isn't that cool? And another awesome thing is that He knows everything about you - your name, thoughts, wishes, hopes, dreams, soul, what makes you mad, what makes you giggle, what you can't stand - EVERYTHING! Even more than your closest friends or family members know. God loves you and has a great plan for you. There are no 'buts' at the end. No way! Now let's take a close look at the next part of the Bible verse...

Then God says, '"Plans for good and not for disaster"'. That means the plans God has for you are for good, NOT for bad. I know we go through hard stuff, but in God's huge plan, He will work everything out for good (more 2 explore: Romans 8:28). He loves you and wants you to love Him back, and trust Him.

The next part says: '" give you a future and a hope."' God's plans are for GOOD, not disaster. The plans are to give you a great, fab future, and a hope. Isn't that awesome? Totally! We just need to trust in God and believe in Him. We need to put our trust in Him and know that He's taking care of everything. We need to let go of everything we've been holding back from Him. God has an awesome plan for you!!!

I hope you enjoy the blog so far :)! Later on, I'm planning on posting polls, new blog posts, and more (if it's what God wants)! I hope you enjoy Girlz of God. Remember - God loves you!
